Louth Search Dog Team Praised at Police Ceremony

“The hard work and efforts of the Louth Search Dogs team have recently been recognised at Lincolnshire Police headquarters.

Lincolnshire Police public appreciation certificates were awarded to Helen Bennett, Bill Buckenham, Sam Buckenham, Debbie Eales, Brian Greenland, Helen Hippisley, Thelma Kirchen, Heather Nicholls, Paul Roberts, John Rymer, Carol Smith, Nigel Steedman and Amanda Whyte at the ceremony in Nettleham on Wednesday November 26, presented by Squadron Leader James Bradburn.

Louth Search Dogs evolved from an idea at a local dog training club back in 1996, when it was recognised that whilst police dogs are good at locating people, they are not so friendly towards them when they do find them. The concept of Louth Search Dogs began, and subsequently the team of volunteers has provided invaluable and lifesaving assistance to many ‘missing person’ searches over the last two decades.
